Feature film

Oh, and we made a feature film: #SelfieParty

A bunch of teenage boys throw an epic party — and wake up in jail the next morning. Not one of them remembers a thing. They're accused of killing a man, but the partygoers swear the body fell from the sky and tell tales of a poltergeist. Nobody believes them, yet the truth has to come out at any cost. To dodge punishment and work out what really happened, the guys set out to collect every selfie and video from the party through social media.

UAH 5M

In its first weeks the film grossed UAH 5 million and topped the Ukrainian box office.

How we shot it

For #SelfieParty, our team built a 350 m² set on a soundstage — a replica of Robert's house, where the party goes down.

That let us pull off complex scenes, like the car smashing through the wall and driving right into the house. To create the chaos, we used firefighting foam and smashed TVs and other furnishings.

We shot for 30 days in the village of Briukhovychi near Lviv, mostly at night, as the story demanded. The night schedule was tough on the whole crew and cast, but their commitment to the project got us through it.

The film has a number of complex stunts that took several dozen professional stunt performers. Among them, a large-scale fight scene and other action sequences that needed careful prep and coordination.

Despite a limited budget, we hit a high production standard thanks to smart use of resources, a professional team and inventive approaches to the shoot.
